National Baby Benz Members day @ Drayton Manor, 20th September 2003.A brilliant day was experienced by all who attended, and with 8 cars this was close to beating the record set by Chester in June 2003.
Most cars had arrived by the time given by the webmaster and by 10:30 all where assembled in the triangles area of Drayton manor.
We where left to our own devices and went for a walk around Drayton Manor with all enjoying the facilities, particularly those with kids, whom seemed to be enjoying the rides.Dinner was a picnic affair with all members enjoying the brilliant sunshine. This was partaken with loads of chat on all things A-class related plus more besides. As well as the occasional photo opportunity.
The A-Class of the day was won by Tonyp and his maroon A160. Steve managed to get him to stop talking for long enough to present him with his certificate. I think we can safely say that this made Tony’s week.Later in the afternoon the more energetic disappeared in to the park again but most remained to talk more A-class on the grass areas adjacent to the cars.
This was a brilliant day and one I would have been extremely sorry if I’d have missed. The was a number of members who camped on both Friday and Saturday nights but sadly we missed Loft as his car broke down on the way down to the meeting on Friday. Apparently a clutch problem.I look forward to the next meeting as if its as good as this one then it will be a corker!
