A New Club and a New World Record?
Well both really!
The Baby-Benz club members, wives, partners and families met up to enjoy the early summer sunshine at The Red Lion in Doddleston to take part in an informal and relaxed Offline Meeting/Members’ Day.
Club founder and webmaster Steve (spb) along with Mark (mxs) were among the first to arrive, and Steve & Mark collectively spent the first few frantic minutes trying to find the owner of a jungle green metallic ‘A’ class which was parked in the wrong area away from where Steve had organised the parking for members to line their pride & joys! This action was met by much amusement from the locals and bar staff alike, as both Steve and Mark marched through the establishment calling out the presumed owners name to get their attention, but to no avail! It came to light later that the owner was just passing through, and was not indeed a lost member! Steve took the opportunity to explain the reason for so many ‘A’ classes congregated together to the very bemused owner, and hopefully now new club member of the afore mentioned vehicle.

Steve once again contributed a prize and certificate to the best turned out ‘Baby’ at the meet, which was easily won by John, & Angela’s (babymerc2000) immaculately turned out ‘S’ reg Avantgarde. Which is a credit to John as it was the car with the earliest registration.
Thanks also to John and Louise (jgm) who brought along their brand new EVO which was drooled over by the fellow members who admired the subtle additions that John had acquired namely chrome headlamp surrounds and rear window wrap rounds which complemented the already good looking ‘top of the range’ car.
And to TOPH along with his laptop for actually managing to turn up at all!
A special thank you also to Mike & Junko (mykp) who not only brought along their ‘Baby’ but also did the honours as official photographer for the event!

If any of you are reluctant to attend a Members' Day my advice is don't be, we all have something in common 'The Baby Benz' and we don't bite, so please do not have any preconceived ideas. The day will be informal without an agenda, it's just a chance to meet and chat. Just ask anyone who's been to one already. Mark Sillet
