Fitting

The phone console has a bracket on one side and two screw holes on the other. It fits on the centre console next to the radio hole.

To fit the console you need to remove the radio and its cage.

The phone console is moulded in shape so that it fits nicely with the contours of the centre console.

Once you have located the bracket in the recess of the radio hole you can refit the radio cage and then the radio. You don’t need to remove the tape or CD holder – I only did this as I find it easier to fit the radio afterwards.

The side of the phone console is fixed in place by two self tapping screws; the curve of the phone console matches the curve of the centre console. Just locate the phone console and screw in the two screws.

I bought a universal phone holder to fit onto the phone console, this just fixed in place with double sided fixing pads

As a closing note on hands free kits – the kit I have was purchased from Halfords. The kit usually is £99 but we got it on sale for £49.

It is a decent kit and mutes the radio when the phone is in use and the sound comes through the car speakers.

You get a phone lead to match the phone you have with the kit – you can also buy other leads separately. This was handy as me and my girlfriend have different phones.

The guy in Halfords couldn’t fit the kit so they sent a guy out to fit it; he did it in around 30 minutes. The kit is really good and we got it at a bargain.
