I want to add Sat Nav and the instructions say it is necessary to connect a wire to the car's "speed detection circuit".

This is a wire from the engine management unit which must indicate the varying speeds of the car with pulses (vehicle, not engine speed). It is on the ISO block connector and is the Green and Black wire. (JGM)
