If you want to improve the air flow to your engine. Get a smoother
throttle response and also a better mpg figure. Then one way to do this
without any mechanical knowledge or experience needed is to replace
your standard MB air filter with a K&N replacement one instead.

The part number for the A140 A160 A190 is.... E-9242.

Fitting a K&N replacement air filter is so easy. You just unfasten the
lid of the air filter housing. Remove the original MB paper filter and
swap it with your new re-useable one instead. Then replace the lid.
It’s that simple.

After removing the paper filter. Take a minute or so to remove any
loose dust and debris from the bottom of the air filter housing with a
vacuum cleaner. It would also be a good idea to cover the air inlet
with something prior to the cleaning. To prevent an ingress of dirt
into the Mass Air Flow Sensor.

As the new K&N replacement air filter itself is re-useable it will last
many years. It comes pre-oiled and ready to fit. It will only need to
be cleaned and re-oiled every couple of years or so depending on the
road conditions.

To everyone who has never seen or heard about K&N. Or just want to know
what one of these filters look like. Here are two pictures for you to
all to have a look at........

The MB filter is shown on the left.

The K&N filter installed

Total fitting time including removing and replacing the lid, and
cleaning the inside of the filter housing is approx 5-10 minutes only.

PLEASE NOTE. When fitting this replacement air filter you won’t notice
a dramatic increase in power or performance etc: The K&N filter just
does the same job as a normal MB filter. But better!.

If it is an increase in your engines performance that you’re after.
Then maybe you should try using K&N’s Induction Kit instead.
